School management system for Ethiopian schools

When enrollment, attendance, grades and fee balances live in separate spreadsheets, the same student is updated repeatedly and discrepancies are hard to explain. Timor keeps those workflows attached to one approved student record.

That gives school teams a consistent starting point for daily operations and gives families a view of the same records the school uses.

Timor treats local requirements as product behavior rather than labels added after the fact. Ethiopian public holidays belong in the school calendar, and each signed-in person can choose whether dates appear in the Ethiopian or Gregorian calendar.

School names can appear in Amharic and English on student ID cards. The interface itself is currently English; the claim is intentionally narrower than full interface translation.

Administrators configure the school and supervise operations. Teachers work with assigned classes. Parents and students use private portals for their own attendance, results, report cards, balances and digital ID.

Access is reinforced by database row-level security, which separates each school’s records where the data is stored. Pages containing student information do not load product analytics.

Fee structures, requests, payments, receipts and balances connect to the student record instead of forming another isolated ledger. Families can pay supported requests through telebirr, while the school receives a reconciled payment status.

Financial entries use an append-only ledger: corrections are recorded as reversals rather than silently rewriting history.
